As part of Saltaire’s World Heritage Day programme, a celebration of traditional print-making methods with a modern twist. Have a go at three heritage printing techniques, and go home with prints you’ve made yourself.
Letterpress: have a go on the record-holding People Powered Press and make giant letters that will appear in Salts Mill as part of an exhibition for this year’s Saltaire Arts Trail and make a smaller letterpress print to take away.
Lino Print: local legend Koot will help you make prints using blocks of Lino with designs cut into them, using vintage Adana printing presses.
Gelli-print: join artist Anita Gwynn to make colourful, layered, one-off prints using this modern take on Mono Printing.
No need to book. If busy, passes will be sold for 1/2 hour timeslots later in the day on a first-come, first-served basis.
