Make up to 10 hand printed cards in time for Christmas

During the workshop you will make up to 10 cards each using polystyrene ‘quickprint’ blocks and a range of colours.

Quickprint gives a similar effect to linocuts by drawing into polystyrene plates rather than cutting into lino. You can make one, two or three colour prints to suit your design. Please bring an idea for a design, which can be Christmas or non-Christmas themed, or Cath will have a range of images you can work from.

Please bring an A4 folder to take your prints home.

Printmaking can get messy, please wear old clothes or bring an apron.

Cath has been making prints since she was first hooked at an evening class at Leeds College of Art over 25 years ago. She has been facilitating community arts projects for many years including teaching print to beginners and those with experience and working for Skippko Arts Team in Leeds. Cath’s prints are inspired by urban and industrial landscapes, many of which are based on sketches around the Redcar area and the North and South Gare. Cath is a member of Inkers, a group of printmakers who collaborate to share practice, to exhibit together and take part in creative projects.
