Koot

Koot is the brush-name for an artist that specialises in old-school techniques including airbrush, oil painting and printmaking. An ex art and design teacher, he studied graphics and printmaking at college, and produced many heavy rock album covers in the 90s (for The Almighty and The Exploited, amongst others). Returning in the last few years to printmaking, he produces lino cuts and prints these on a traditional etching press – both as fine art prints and onto t-shirts. He has also renovated a number of old Adana table-top letterpress machines. These are used for traditional letterpress, but also for lino printing greeting cards – something he does in his taught workshops.
